About 10 days after first releasing Mac OS X 10.5.4 to developers Apple has released another build. The build which is labelled 9E12 is around 150MB to download.

The latest build contains 12 additional bug fixes including the “hang on shutdown” fix.

Apple has requested that developers with the latest build focus on 21 areas within the operating system, in particular; iLife compatibility, printing, networking, AirPort, Mail, iCal, and iChat.

Mac OS X 10.5.4 is expected to be released prior to the July 11th release of MobileMe.

Just one week after releasing Mac OS X 10.5.3 Apple has seeded a build of Mac OS X 10.5.4 to developers.

Build 9E6 of Mac OS X 10.5.4 currently contains no known issues and only five bug fixes but this is likely to change over time.

Apple is asking developers to focus on some of the following key areas; AirPort, AFP, Active Directory, iCal and iChat.

Mac OS X 10.5.3 Build 9D34 [Seed Notes]

Apple is continuing testing on the next major incremental update to Mac OS X 10.5, this time the company has fixed only one issue affecting kernel performance, which was said to be an issue holding up Mac OS X 10.5.3 in the past.

Apple is asking developers with access to build 9D34 to focus on many of the major features in Leopard such as Time Machine and Back To My Mac but also asking developers to test audio and video applications.

With over 220 bug and code fixes Mac OS X 10.5.3 is expected to be released around WWDC.

Mac OS X 10.5.3 Build 9D32 [Seed Notes]

Apple continues the testing of its latest Mac OS X update which continues to contain no “known issues” but stability issues and final tweaking have been said to be delaying the build.

Apple still asks developers to focus on the following 15 areas of the OS: 802.1x, Activity Directory, AFP, AirPort, audio, Back to my Mac, Dock, Finder, graphics, Installer, Mail, Spaces, Spotlight, Sync Services and Time Machine.

Apple also adds another 6 fixes pushing the total number of fixes in Mac OS X 10.5.3 to over 220.

AppleInsider reports on a new option which has been quietly added to the latest build of Mac OS X 10.5.3.

Time Machine backs up data every hour but when notebooks are on battery life Time Machine stops running. A new option in Mac OS X 10.5.3 allows users to allow Time Machine to continue its hourly back ups while on battery power.

The toggle checkbox is accessible by selecting the “Options” button in the Time Machine system preferences.

Mac OS X 10.5.3 Approaches Fast, Build 9D29 [Seed Notes]

Less than a week since Apple seeded the last build of Mac OS X 10.5.3 (9D27), developers have received another build.

Once again the latest iteration of Mac OS X 10.5.3 contains no known issues but stability issues are said to be delaying the release. This build also comes with a further four fixes to the list of over 215.

The third update to Mac OS X Leopard is expected imminently.

New Build of Mac OS X 10.5.3 Emerges [Seed Notes]

Early this week Apple released another build of Mac OS X 10.5.3 to the select amount of developers who are testing the third update to Leopard.

The latest build continues to contain no known issues but adds another 11 bug fixes pushes the total for 10.5.3 update to over 210.

One week after build 9D23 of Mac OS X 10.5.3 Apple has unleashed another build of the third update to Leopard.

Build 9D25 contains no known issues but adds another 22 fixes to the list of over 180.

Apple Seeds Mac OS X 10.5.3 (9D23) [Seed Notes]

Apple has today released a new build of the upcoming update to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. The new build 9D23 comes a mere 3 days after the last, a sure sign that development and testing is wrapping up.

As with the previous build (9D22) this latest build contains zero known issues but still asks developers to focus testing on a dozen areas. Another 8 fixes are also included in this seed bring the total number of fixes in Mac OS X 10.5.3 to almost 180.

Mac OS X 10.5.3 is expected to be released within the next week and a half.

Latest OS X 10.5.3 Build 9D22 With Developers

On Friday afternoon Apple seeded build 9D22 of Mac OS X 10.5.3 to developers.

Those familiar with the release state that the latest build offers 15 new bug fixes adding to a list of over 170. The build also has no known issues remaining.

Amongst the latest improvements are fixes to Macs failing to properly rejoin wireless networks after being woken from sleep. The build also contains fixes for systems failing to shutdown correctly and crashes when enabling system mode.

Due to the quick succession of builds and very limited issues it appears that the third update to Mac OS X Leopard will arrive in the next 2 weeks.
