Graphics Update for Some PowerBooks

An update available in Software Update for some models of PowerBook.

This update is recommended for the following PowerBook G4 computers:
- PowerBook G4 (15-inch, 1.67 GHz)
- PowerBook G4 (17-inch, 1.67 GHz)

The installer guides you through the steps to install the PowerBook G4 Graphics Update 1.0.

Installation of the PowerBook G4 Graphics Update requires Mac OS X 10.4.2.

Japan Downloads Smash 1 Million Barrier

Over 1 million songs have been sold on the Japan iTunes Music Store, already! The Store was opened just four days ago.

In a telephone intereview Eddie Cue said “we’re extremely happy with the results” followed by “we think we’ve got a huge success.”

Apple Launches Japan Music Store

Steve Jobs launched the popular iTunes Music Store in Japan today. The event as reported took place at the Tokyo International Forum.

Songs on the store will be solded for just ¥150 and ¥200. The iTunes Music Store debits with some local favourites and lots of iTunes originals.

To celebrate the event Apple is hosting live music performances throughout august in its four retail stores in Japan.

Apple Releases the Mighty Mouse

Years of speculation and upset by many members of the Mac Community Apple have finally given into there ways and released a multi button mouse designed to work with OS X.

The Might Mouse, has an optical sensor, touch sensitive pads instead of buttons and a 360 degree scroll bar and also force sensitive buttons on the side that can be programmed by the user.

The new mouse is available via the Apple Store for £35 ($49).

Apple Changes iPod Trademark

With rumours of the iPod Video high this may simply be a coincidence or a case of Apple protecting itself but on June 18, 2005 Apple Computer filed changes to its iPod Trademark;

Second Apple Store to Open in London

Apple has today confirmed its sixth UK retail store, it will be located in the shopping district of Brent Cross in London.

Apple says they are “now hiring for the Apple Store Brent Cross North London, set to open later this year.”

Two other stores are set to open in the Trafford Centre in Manchester and Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield.

Mac OS X Intel Uses DRM

Slashdot is reporting that the current version of Mac OS X Intel uses a form of DRM. According to the report several people have noticed that the Kernel included on Apple’s Developer Kit DVD uses TCPA/TPM DRM. This will prevent certain parts of the OS from working unless authorised.

Apple’s Second Tokyo Store Opening August 6

Apple will open its fourth store in Japan this Saturday, the store is located in Tokyo’s Shibuya district.

The store will open at 10am local time and is around a 5 minute walk from the Shibuya train station.
