With the recent mass of updates to Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack and very recently Aperture it has been discovered that Apple has implemented a form of anti-piracy control.
TUAW has posted that the Soundtrack Pro update has not appeared in the Software Update Utility and had to be downloaded manually, upon doing this it was discovered that you have to enter your Apple ID and Serial Number.
Is this a sign of things to come?
Well as soon as I finished writing the previous post I discovered that the update has been released, here’s what Apple had to say:
“Aperture 1.0.1 Update addresses a number of issues related to reliability and performance. It also delivers improved image export quality and metadata handling.”
Among the key areas addressed are:
Apple has today released an update for Final Cut Pro 5, the update weighs in at 85MB and is described simply as providing “Improved reliability”.
[Update 1] It appears the updates pushes Final Cut Pro up to version 5.0.4.
ABC have added another popular TV Series to the line-up on iTunes, Commander and Chief, a very popular show in the US about a woman president is now available to download from the iTMS.

Expected availability mid-January.”
A sign of a revision to the iPod shuffle?
Apple has put up a job listing indicating that it has more in store for its Front Row application.
The job description is as follows:
“Do you want to join a team building revolutionary new multi-media software for Mac OS X? Would you like to create software for a centerpiece in Apple’s digital hub? If so, then the Platform Experience Department is looking for you. We are looking for a proactive, highly motivated engineer to work on Apple’s new Front Row digital media technology.
HBO CEO said today that the network is hoping to make a deal with Apple at some point to deliver its programming to the iPod, much like NBC.
It appears Cingular have beaten Apple to the line as they have reported plans to send video clips of HBO’s hit shows to mobile phones.
As reported a few months back Google has launched a new service which allows users to type in details of a song and receive back relevant results with links to online merchants.
iTunes is listed as one of these online merchants, along with Real, Amazon and eMusic.
Apple today settled with the third man who leaked a pre-release copy of Mac OS X Tiger onto the internet in 2004.
Apple have reached an agreement with David Schwartzstein who was a member of an Apple Developer group.
Apple sued three men last December after they allegedly released a copy of Mac OS X Tiger onto the internet via BitTorrent, the second person accused was settled with back in April.
