MediaMemo is claiming that music industry sources have intimated that Apple is set to hold a special event the week of September 7th. MediaMemo explains that Apple is “noncommittal” about the dates.

MediaMemo goes onto suggest that Apple is likely to be holding a music related event, as it does every September. The site speculates that the company will show off “Cocktail” the nickname given to iTunes album enhancements that will see full-length albums bundled with “album covers and interactive bells and whistles.”

More likely is that Apple will use the event to unleash a new lineup of iPods, recent rumours suggest the addition of cameras to the iPod nano and iPod touch models.

Some are beginning to speculate that a September based event would be the perfect stage for Apple to introduce the long rumoured touchscreen tablet which some have suggested will come to market in September. On this subject The Loop is reporting from “very reliable sources” that the event will not see the introduction of the Apple tablet. In fact the same sources concur with rumours that the tablet will come in early 2010.
