This morning, Apple filed a Notice of Appearance and Demand for Service of Pleadings and Other Papers in Psystar’s Florida bankruptcy case. Apple is represented by Berger Singerman, P.A. for this action. While the filing sounds strong with the word “demand” in the title, it simply means that Apple wishes to receive copies of all papers filed in this matter. This is a routine filing. Here is the docket entry:
05/27/2009 17 Notice of Appearance and Request for Service of Pleadings and Other Papers by Paul Steven Singerman Esq Filed by Creditor Apple, Inc.. (Singerman, Paul) (Entered: 05/27/2009)

I guess this means we will find out the big names and donators of Psystar. Maybe some secrets will explode.
Would be hilarious to see that somebody like Microsoft is a main contributor. ha.

Actually, for reasons I said in my prior article, I doubt anything on that front will come out of this bankruptcy hearing. People who are smart enough to front money like that (if there are such people in this case) are smart enough to cover their tracks from expected things like bankrupticies which are nothing new to venture capitalists.
And if names did come out, any large company wouldn’t be obvious, it would be through so many layers that unless someone did something really dumb, I doubt we will ever know. If I had to venture a guess, I don’t think any American companies are involved. Way too much at risk. I would more expect an Asian or European company to be testing the waters. Perhaps even a company that is not yet involved in the PC industry.
