North Carolina lawmakers are reportedly promising massive tax breaks for Apple if the company goes through with plans to build a server farm in the state.

To receive the breaks Apple would have to invest an estimated $1 billion over a nine year period and locate itself within one of the states poorest counties. The tax break could save Apple $46 million in the space of 10 years.

At this stage it is unclear what Apple could intend to use the server farm for but with the company making ever larger forays into online music and video it is very likely that this project will aid in that expansion.
