Earlier today Apple released a new beta of iPhone OS 3.0 to registered iPhone developers. Unlike the previous three builds of OS 3.0 the new beta delivers very few face value changes. In terms of stability Beta 4 is far more stable as would be expected.
Below are a few screenshots from iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 4.

Search results reordering and hiding was available in the 3rd beta and is not new to the 4th.

Thanks,
I updated the article to reflect that.

That exclamation mark on the failed messages has been there since beta 3, and if you tap it it’ll ask you if you want to resend it.
So as the search result on Spotlight.
But yeah, in total beta 4 has been a very good improvement!

MMS anywhere to be found?

is there – finally – any way to delete single messages?
Alex Brooks 30th April 2009, 09.24 am
@relaxedmax
These screenshots are from a 1G iPhone so MMS is disabled across the system. As far as I know it is still not in a working form but due to the carriers, not the device. Same with tethering.
@mike
Individual message deleting and forwarding has been available since Beta 1. I’ve added a new screenshot to demonstrate.

MMS and tethering is working if you update the carrier settings. Now when you switch it on it asks if you want USB only or Bluetooth and USB. USB tethering works great, bluetooth not so well on newer equipment.
The red exclamation point has been there since beta 1.

Copy and Paste from Calculator was there in beta 3, so not new for beta 4

Hello, is it possible to set up multiple APN profiles (Settings/General/Network/Cellular Data Network) in the new FW version? Or set up a proxy for EDGE/3G network? Thanks.
Owie 30th April 2009, 20.31 pm
@ Kremik
sadly it is still blank. So basically, you can’t change the carrier settings.
@ Alex Brooks
there’s a new bug in the iPod app… There would be times that song info will be displayed as “Unknown” and a blank albumart.

@Owie
I had that bug in B3.

All of the screenshots but the second one were present in Beta 3.

If you need help getting your UDID activated on a developers account i found the website that i linked to my name above actually found them in facebook, just click on my name to go there. They had me up and running in no time and i now have complete access to their Apple developers account with my own user ID and password. It was worth it, just my 2 cents for anyone who is in the same boat i was.
