This latest version finally takes part in the 64-bit architecture, allowing applications to have more than 4 GiB of RAM (if you possessed them of course), which was used for greedy software mostly. It appears that increased compatibility with social networking services have guided the development of this latest version. Some nice tidying up here, but nothing seemingly worth paying $99-149 for. I wonder how many people will complain about the Vista->7 upgrade price and then stand in lines/wait in droves to pay for the Leopard->Snow Leopard upgrade. Should be interesting. Love the double standards between the two OSes and their fanbases.

The Finder was supposed to be entirely replaced in Leopard. That was quoted as a mandate by Steve Jobs himself.

Also, regarding QuickTime no longer needing to be upgraded to Pro: Are you sure?! What you’ve got there IS “Pro” as you can see in the QuickTime logo. I suspect QT Pro was distributed as part of the beta and is NOT activated in the public version.
