17-Inch Unibody MacBook Pros Arrive and Disassembled

Mac Rumors notes that several users on its forums have reportedly received their 17-inch MacBook Pro orders. One of the users UFOGoldorak also posted benchmarks for the 2.93GHz model with 4GB of RAM.
iFixit has also posted a full disassembly of the new 17-inch Unibody MacBook Pro. In particular iFixit points out that due to the new case design requires a screwdriver to replace RAM or the hard drive, both of which are user replaceable parts; unlike the battery.
The battery which makes up 20% of the machines weight is removable and iFixit expects many companies to begin offering replacements in the near future.
An official battery replacement for the 17-inch MacBook Pro from Apple costs $179.

Would not buy one of these, or any, with non replaceable batteries. Stinks of lock in and paying Apple yet more for a service that should be free.
I know they bang on about the battery life but would rather have two batteries on a long journey.
