Dizzle you’re correct, I do not agree with your opinion on this one. Frankly we won’t honestly know what the “real” issue is until later in the year.

In the statement Jobs states that he should be healthier by the Spring which should mean a healthy appearance from him at WWDC.

I do believe the release even if it is slightly short on details, frankly when a CEO of a massive company is ill then it is the business of the shareholders and investors, I’m sure the SEC will agree.

If as Dizzle suggests this release is hyperbole then by the end of the year expect Jobs to no longer be CEO and the entire board of directors to have been replaced…

Paul, no one twisted Apple’s arm to issue that statement. I am all for leaving his private matters alone, but then Apple has to keep quiet about it as well. I think Alex and I may disagree here, but I don’t believe a word of that announcement.

This doesn’t quell rumours, it only feeds them. Apple should have kept quiet, and people will get bored and move on to something more interesting. Like Paul Thurott’s trainwreck of keynote live-blogging.

Shinil, What the hell has Steve Jobs health got to do with you man? If he is ill its not really a thing that he should be expected to post around the net. If you are ill would you want it around the net?

It was about time that Mr. Job came clean on his health. The rumours were taking a toll on everybody. Time to put an end to all the nonsense doing the rounds in cyberspace.

The title of the article makes it seem like Jobs was hiding something. He said his doctors didn’t know what was wrong, and it does not appear to be life threatening. Bloggers need to stop trying to get eyes by sensationalisim.
