New iMacs Due Next Month

DigiTimes is reporting news from Chinese newspaper Econmic Daily News which suggests that Apple could be poised to release a new iMac next month.
The report which cites sources within the Apple supply chain states that Apple will “launch a new iMac all-in-one PC in the first quarter of next year, and the company’s sole manufacturing partner, Quanta Computer, is gearing up to supply monthly shipments of around 800,000 units during the first quarter of 2009.”
The report come just days after configuration files were found in Mac OS X that referenced the new iMac as well as NVIDIA based chipsets.

They will need to do something serious with the price to raise the sales. Apple desktops are not in vogue it seems, the “holiday” sales were flat and down November Sales down 38%.
