A report on the NY Times blog points towards a posting on a social networking site which reveals much of Apple’s future hardware plans.

Wei-han Lien, the senior manager of Apple’s chip team and former engineer of P.A. Semi lists his current position as “Senior Manager Chip CPU Architect at Apple” on his Linkedin profile (now removed but pictured).

The news comes as no surprise as at the time of Apple’s acquisition of P.A. Semi many speculated that the company would be used to assist Apple in the improvement of the ARM processor and iPhone.

The current generation iPhone uses multiple ARM processors within it and it was mentioned by Steve Jobs that P.A. Semi would be assisting Apple in manufacturing custom chips for the iPod and iPhone.
