AT&T has announced several international data plans for frequent travelers for an additional monthly fee of $119.99 (100MB per month) and $199.99 (200MB per month). These plans would be in effect for data use in 67 countries and would replace the current pay-per-use international data roaming charges that were currently the only option in those countries.

May ’save’ international roamers what exactly over even getting a pay-per-use SIM card locally [excluding the iPhone of course, unless you buy an unlocked one or get a TurboSIM adapter]? These monthly rates are what, 5% less than the regular, non-monthly rate?

I am not sure I understand your question Dave. From the original source “The two new plans, which offer 100 MB or 200 MB a month, can potentially save customers hundreds of dollars compared to pay-per-use international data roaming charges.”
You would dispute that statement? If so, do you have some specifics? I am not challenging you – I am not an international traveler so I am very interested in learning about this.
