Vodafone email informing customers of midnight iPhone launchOn the other side of the world, O2 has begun accepting pre-orders in the UK. iPhone 3G’s ordered online will be delivered on July 11 and will be able to be activated via iTunes at home.
Despite accidentally revealing the price of pay-as-you-go iPhone’s last week O2 has now confirmed that the units won’t be available until “later this year”.

$199 for an iPhone sounds good - but turns out the plans which have now been announced suck worse than Canada’s plans. The $199 phone comes only on a 2yr contract of $250 per month and only 1GB Data. Watch the local New Zealand News where the reporter absolutely rips apart Vodafone NZ for these outrageous plans!
