Today Orange released a one sentence press release (PDF) exclaiming that they will offer the iPhone in Austria, Belgium, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Jordan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland and African markets later this year.

Orange’s announcement brings the total number of carriers who will officially carry the iPhone in the future to 46. That means that 42 countries are covered with a total available market of 575 million, up from 153 million currently.

The following is a list of countries currently officially confirmed to be receiving the iPhone as of 16th May 2008:

  • AT&T - USA
  • O2 - UK, Ireland
  • Orange - France
  • Rogers - Canada
  • Globe Telecom (SingTel subsidiary) - Philippines
  • SingTel - Singapore
  • Telecom Italia - Italy
  • Bharti AirTel - India
  • Optus - Australia
  • Vodacom - South Africa
  • America Movil - Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay
  • Vodafone - Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, New Zealand, Portugal, Turkey, Australia, Italy, India
  • Orange - Austria, Belgium, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Jordan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland and Africa.
