AppleInsider reports on a new option which has been quietly added to the latest build of Mac OS X 10.5.3.
Time Machine backs up data every hour but when notebooks are on battery life Time Machine stops running. A new option in Mac OS X 10.5.3 allows users to allow Time Machine to continue its hourly back ups while on battery power.
The toggle checkbox is accessible by selecting the “Options” button in the Time Machine system preferences.

Vance,
