A note by American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu to clients states that Apple is set to put some weight behind the Blu-Ray High Definition format and begin shipping some of its computers with the capabilities built in.
“We believe this is a key announcement as current Macs ship with the DVD format and Sony gains a strong ally in Blu-ray,” the analyst told clients.
AppleInsider has corroborated the analyst stating that a Mac Pro overhaul is expected in the first quarter of 2008 and the machines will come with Blu-Ray support.
The rumour site also writes that the Blu-Ray announcement could come at this months Macworld Expo which is set to kick off on Tuesday, January 15th.
