AppleInsider reports today that Apple has plans to reinvent the personal computer (PDA), with a possible announcement of the future product being as soon as January 2008 with a shipping date of mid-2008.
Steve Jobas has mentioned in the past that Apple had been working on a PDA device and rumours go way back to 2003 regarding a possible “Apple Tablet” device.
The rumour site claims that Apple has a PDA device that operates using the same multi-touch OS X base that the iPhone uses. The device is said to be around 1.5x times the size of an iPhone and feature a high-resolution (720×480) screen which consumes almost the entire surface.
Apple originally invented the PDA market in 1993 with the Apple Newton.
