Unlocking phones is not illegal, deliberately destroying people's property is. It looks like thats exactly what Apple did. I use to admire Apple as a company but now they are no better than Microsoft. At least most of Microsoft's questionable moves are due to poor management decisions and sloppy coding. Apple has trumped that by moving into criminal behavior. It wasn’t the unlocks, it was the update that destroyed those iPhones.
