Following the release of iTunes 7.4.1, yesterday’s free ringtone hack appears to have been all patched up by Apple. But it appears that another simple workaround appears to have popped up.
To get ringtones onto your iPhone for free follow these steps:
-
Follow original steps
- Create ringtone and save it as an AAC file.
- Rename the .m4a extension to .m4r
- Add to iTunes
-
And then the following steps for iTunes 7.4.1
- Rename the file from .m4r back to .m4a
- That’s it.
