It appears that Apple maybe preparing to update Backup, an application only available to .Mac customers that allows backups to be made.

Apple’s .Mac Backup website shows a screenshot of what appears to be a new version of Backup. The screenshot contains new options such as, “Essential .Mac”, “Complete Archive” and “iPod Safety Net”.
