&The rumours over the last week pointed to the possible release of the “6th Generation” iPod on August 7th. The date is also when a revision iMac is rumoured to be released.
The rumours suggest that the new iPod will not contain a multi-touch screen but will instead still have the traditional click-wheel design.
Mac Rumors posted videos of the new user interface but they were removed due to requests from Apple legal.
Although the rumour site was unsure of the source, the videos certainly look authentic.
The videos depict the user interface of the 6G iPod, although the interface will be familiar to every iPod user it has a certain flair with the introduction of much more animation and a split screen interface.
Most of videos contain references to The Beatles tracks which could suggest a release of The Beatles material to the iTunes Store imminently.
