Analysts have been clambering to give an opinion on how many units they think Apple shipped over the weekend, but Apple has been reluctant to release any details regarding sales.
On the other hand AT&T spokesman Mark Siegel gives the most official word on iPhone sales so far.
“We’ve sold more iPhones in the first weekend than we’ve sold in the first month of any other wireless device in AT&T’s history,” Siegel said.
Meanwhile Apple’s store inventory tool is shedding some light by revealing that 95 out of 164 stores have no stock of iPhones today. The online store still shows an estimated ship date of 2-4 weeks.
