Both Think Secret and MacRumors are reporting that Apple will inroduce five new MacBook configurations later today.

Neither was able to offer any details on the update in particular why the number of models has increased from three to five.

Think Secret was keen to note that the MacBook updates will not embrace Santa Rosa and neither will they feature LED backlit displays.

The new models are expected to debut at 8.00am ET (1.00pm BST).
