Apple’s Senior Vice President of Industrial Design, Jonathan Ive has been awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of the Arts, London.
The ceremony was held at the Banqueting House on Whitehall in London, although Ive wasn’t present a video of his acceptance was shown to attendees. The award was granted for his contribution to the world of design.
Rector of University of the Arts London, Sir Michael Bichard said: “Jonathan Ive is one of the most important product designers in the world, his talent and foresight has created truly iconic products that beautifully combine form and function. His designs are tangible examples of the power of creativity to delight and surprise while driving real economic development. The University is proud to honour Jonathan Ive.”
