Think Secret is reporting that updates to the MacBook Pro and MacBook computers could come as early as next Tuesday.
The report states that the MacBook Pro update will be based on Intel’s recently launched Santa Rosa platform.
Sources familiar with the update state that supplies of MacBook computers are virtually non-existant as major Apple distributors, and no more shipments of the low-end laptop are reaching resellers.
Details of the MacBook laptop are slim but the site suggests that it is most likely that the laptop will take advantage of Santa Rosa with Core 2 Duo processors at speeds of 1.8GHz, 2.0GHz, 2.2GHz, and 2.4GHz.
The MacBook will not employ LED backlit displays, the update is said to come in a later revision.
The Mac mini is also said to be due for an upgrade as it remains the only Mac employing 32-bit processors.
