Apple is set to hold a Special Event at NAB 2007 tomorrow. Invitations were sent out to members of the media a month ago, the event which will take place in the Venetian Room at the Las Vegas Convention Centre will kick off at:
- 11:00AM - Pacific
- 12:00AM - Mountain
- 01:00PM - Central
- 02:00PM - Eastern
- 07:00PM - GMT / London
- 03:00AM - Tokyo (April 16th)

As with every Apple event World of Apple endeavours to dig up the dirt on every rumour doing the rounds and offer a simple and concise roundup of the lot.
Final Cut Pro 6 - WoA Rumour Rating - 9/10
First rumoured back in January 2006 by Think Secret, Final Cut Pro 6 was said to be set for release at NAB2006 but has now been expanded further and Think Secret is now set on the idea that Final Cut Pro 6 will see the light of day at NAB2007.
Final Cut Pro 6 was rumoured to feature 5.1 Surround sound editing, 1080/24p and 1030/30p DVCPROHD back in January 2006. Since that time no other features have been stated concerning Final Cut Pro 6.
It is also unknown whether the update of Final Cut Pro 6 will come hand-in-hand with updates to Soundtrack Pro, Motion, DVD Studio, Compressor and Shake.
Recently it was noticed that Apple had stopped selling Final Cut crossgrade discs on the online Apple Store.
Final Cut Extreme - WoA Rumour Rating - 7/10
As with Final Cut Pro updates, Final Cut Extreme has been rumoured since January of 2006, the software and hardware combination is said to be priced at $10,000 and above and be aimed at the Avid market share.
The suite is said to call on a hardware card specifically designed for the Mac Pro, allowing support for 4K media if necessary.
Unfortunately no further information has presented itself referring to Final Cut Extreme.
Updated Cinema Displays - WoA Rumour Rating - 4/10
As included in Macworld’s Rumour Roundup, new displays are said to include a new 17-inch display as well as a display capable of 4K resolutions (4096 × 1714).
Of note Think Secret also believes Apple may update the 17-inch MacBook Pro with a display capable of displaying HD resolutions (1920 × 1080).
