Apple Seeds Mac OS X 10.4.9

Apple has seeded build 8P21111 for Mac OS X 10.4.9 to developers.

Areas said to have fixes are as follows; Sync Service Engine, rsync and extended attributes, .Mac Sync, Rosetta, USB Modem and caller ID, Bluetooth device pairing, USB modem busy tone detection, QC Engine, Core Graphics and HID Manager, PDFKit and MallocGuardEdges, and Automator Actions.

Apple asks developers to focus on the following areas during testing; Adobe Flash, bash, bind, Bonjour, Dashboard Widgets, FireWire, Fonts, gnutar, Graphics, and iChat Video Conferencing.

1G iPod shuffle Software Update

Apple has released a Software Update for the 1G iPod shuffle, the update which is known as “iPod shuffle Reset Utility 1.0.1.”

The update which is available for both Mac and Windows.

The iPod shuffle Reset Utility restores First Generation iPod shuffle. The restore process completely erases all music and data on iPod shuffle and reinstalls software version 1.1.5.

New Displays at MacWorld?

According to multiple reports, Apple could be set to release new Displays at MacWorld Expo San Francisco in early January.

The new displays are said to include built -in iSight cameras.

The standalone iSight camera appears to have recently been discontinued in the remaining countries since it was removed from Apple Stores in Europe back in June.

Resellers who have questioned the removal of the external iSight camera have been told that Apple believes there is no need for the product as the iSight is built-in across the Apple product line-up.
