Since last weeks announcement there has been a bit of buzz around what will happen to the U2 iPod. It appears to be missing the new features which the 5.5G iPod has donned.
According to a bit of quick research by World of Apple shows that the U2 iPod has had a SKU change from MA452 to MA664 within the last week.
It is unknown whether the new SKU indicates a feature refresh as well as bundling those new earbuds.
Anyone care to enlighten us while we pop down to the Apple Store?
[Update 21/9/2006 23.50 BST] As originally reported Apple has indeed updated the U2 iPod in line with the updates made to the 5G iPod.
Apple has also cut the price of the U2 iPod from $329 to $279.
