Just last week Apple officially announced a replacement for its eMac line of computers, the 17-inch iMac sported a 1.83GHz processor and a small price tag of $899.
Sources have stated that Apple removed the iMac from the online store due to a mistake, the iMac was only meant to be sold to educational institutions.
But contrary reports have also been seen on the Internet.
One source states that the new model wasn’t selling well and was removed whereby another source states that the sales were so strong that purchase began cutting into the sales of higher priced models.
The $899 iMac remains available too educational institutions.
