French based Mac-site MacGeneration is reporting that Apple VP Pascal Cagni has sent an official email to French authorised resellers outlining new contract conditions.

The contract pretty much covers terms that Apple will no longer license to resellers, instead of licensing the term ‘Apple Centre’ they will call them ‘Premium Providers’ and the use of the terms ‘Apple’ and ‘Mac’ will be pretty much eradicated.

This appears to be in preparation for Apple to open a Flagship in the capital, it is rumoured that a store could open in the Opera district of Paris, just north of the Champs Elysees.

[Update] The International Herald Tribune is reporting that Apples plans to enter retailing in France could be delayed or potentially cancelled.

It is unclear whether the French Parliament’s recent passage of a copyright law that could directly affect Apple’s business here will change the relationship. Some observers say it won’t help, states the report.
