Yes, give us the OSX finder - reborn in an aquafied and quartz-enabled form. Give us tear-off menues. And most of all, give us an ergonomic dock!

"some say [NeXTSTEP] has strong resemblance to OS X"

It isn't just a strong resemblance. OS X is a direct descendant of NeXTSTEP. The core technologies (Application Kit, Foundation Kit, Objective-C, Mach/BSD Unix, Interface Builder/Mail/TextEdit, etc), although they have evolved, are present in NeXTSTEP. OS X version 10.4 (Tiger) is really something like NeXTSTEP 6.5.

25 MHz 68030 with 8MB of RAM (sounds just like my first Mac, a IIci). My things have changed haven't they.

Could we please get some software that would run comfortably on 8MB of RAM? That would just scream on my G5 Dual with 4GB of RAM.
