Apple today named Tim Cook to be Chief Operating Officer. Tim was previosuly Worldwide Sales and Operations Vice President but will continue to work very closely with CEO Steve Jobs.
Steve had this to say about Tim - “Tim has been doing this job for over two years now, and it’s high time we officially recognized it with this promotion. Tim and I have worked together for over seven years now, and I am looking forward to working even more closely with him to help Apple reach some exciting goals during the coming years.”

Well, looks like Steve won’t be at Apple too much longer.
This definitely seems like Steve’s lightening his load at Apple. Will Apple be the same without Steve? I don’t think so..
