It is reported that Apple released several pre-release items of software to developers late last week, in which one caused a rumble amongst the Mac world.
iTunes 5.0.2
At some point on Friday Apple accidentally sent out a notification that an update existed for iTunes, when users followed the link they found no sign of it on Apple’s Update portion of the site. It appears that Apple had wanted to release this to developers only and it was simply a hiccup.
Mac OS X 10.4.3 Build 8F31
Reports around the Internet point towards a new build of Mac OS X 10.4.3 being released to developers, now at build 8F31 and weighing in at over 110MB in size the seed covers over 500 bug fixes and enhancements. The release is rumoured for early October..
Xsan 1.2
Xsan is Apple’s network file system and currently resides at version 1.1 but it is rumoured that version 1.2 is due later this year, no more details were supplied but expect more stability and better performance during certain operations.
